How long is the Canadian citizenship test?
The official IRCC citizenship test is 45 minutes long, not 30 minutes as many sources incorrectly state.
How many questions are on the citizenship test?
The test has 20 questions (multiple choice and true/false). You need 15 correct (75%) to pass.
What happens if you fail the citizenship test?
You can take the test up to 3 times. After 3 failures, you meet with a citizenship official (not a judge).
Is ExamCAN affiliated with the Government of Canada?
No. ExamCAN is an independent study tool. We are not affiliated with or endorsed by IRCC. Official information is at canada.ca.

Will my data be shared with immigration authorities?
No. We never share user data with IRCC, CBSA, or any government agency unless required by law. We do not collect immigration status or UCI numbers.

Yes. Every question and module is available in both English and French (Canadian).
