A loaded bus needs far more room to stop than a car.
- At speeds over 60 km/h, keep a minimum following distance of at least 60 metres (200 feet) behind the vehicle ahead.
- On highways outside cities, towns and villages, keep at least 60 metres (200 feet) between buses travelling the same direction, except when passing.
Common mistake: following a smaller vehicle closely. The size of a bus can intimidate the driver ahead; keep well back.
